Our Charity Partners
At Sweet Cheeks Merino, we believe in the importance of giving back to our community. As a little company that spans across both Australia and New Zealand we have selected a handful of little but important charities to support. Not only are we able to provide Sweet Cheeks Merino to families who would not be able to afford our clothing but it completely minimises our production waste.

The Nest Collective, New Zealand
The Nest Collective is a group of volunteers across New Zealand who work alongside social workers to ensure families are supported in their parenting journey.
When it is time to do a production run and the cutters cut our pattern into the fabric, the fabric scapes are collected and every piece that is big enough to be turned into into merino beanies or newborn mittens are cut and set aside. We then pick these up and donate them on a regular basis to The Nest Collective. They have a wonderful team of volunteers who can sew these into the finished product and then donate to families in need across New Zealand.

Running for Premature Babies, Australia
Running for Premature Babies was founded by Sophie Smith and her late husband Ash after they lost their prematurely born triplets to complications after their premature birth in 2006. While in hospital, Sophie and Ash realised that most of the machines that kept their boys alive were donated and learned that the hospital relies on fundraising for 70% of the equipment in the unit. And this was how Running for Premature Babies Foundation started. Through promoting their cause through running events, their Foundation has so far raised over $5 million for life saving neonatal equipment and funded research to solve the many mysteries of prematurity and advance the care of premature babies for the future.
When hearing about their cause, we wanted to help. We regularly donate prizes to raffle events, promote their Foundation at running events around Melbourne and are working on turning fabric off cuts from our production runs into premature sized beanies to then donate to hospitals alongside medical equipment.

St Kilda Mums, Australia
In July 2022, we donated over $2,400 worth of Sweet Cheeks Merino product to the lovely team at St Kilda Mums.
St Kilda Mums is a charity that collects and re-homes essential items for babies and children across Victoria, Australia!
We donated a little over 100 pieces which included merino beanies, mittens and baby pants! We are so impressed with the work that St Kilda Mums does and we so excited that our clothing can help keep some little people toasty warm.

Sewing for Charity, Australia
In July 2022, we donated 120 cut not sewn merino beanies to Sewing for Charity.
Sewing for Charity is based in Queensland and provides clothing to those suffering from distress and are disadvantaged in some way. They regularly donate to hospitals, nursing homes, schools.
Like Sweet Cheeks, they are passionate about reducing textile waste and wherever possible engage in sustainable practice by up-cycling used textiles and clothing to make handmade items for donation.

Little More, New Zealand
Little More is an Auckland based charity that delivers little bundles of pre-loved baby clothes and essentials to maternity units at hospitals. These are then distributed by midwives to families in need. Little More was established in March 2013 and has been overwhelmed by need for these little parcels.
Sweet Cheeks donates end of line and sample products to Little More. We love that our "obsolete" pieces of clothing can be used in such a special way. We are so thankful charities like Little More exist and we are proud to be able to support them in the way that we do.
